What is a fursuiter, you want to know ehh? Well first you have got to read the "What is a furry?" part first, before you read this. Or else it won't make much sense.

A fursuiter, basicly, is a person dressing up in an animal suit. But it still has human touches to it. Like walking on 2 feet, instead of 4. Now you might think that it is the same as those mascots. Well.... Not really. A mascot is just a guy who walks in an animal suit, just for the money. Of course they also have fun in doing it, but it's still not the same. A mascot just wears his animal suit, when they are needed. Like in the famous American Football games. Or the famous chicken suits for promoting chicken food. They only wear it for work, nothing more.

Fursuiters wear animal suits because of the fun. They want to make eachother and other people happy. Also the fursuit is a part of the one wearing it. It's your own created character. It's like your own RPG character has come to life. You can control everything. What he likes, what he does, what type of breed he is, what colours he has etc.
But most of us already know what they want to "be". What kind of animal and what personality that animal should be.

Eventually they have the entire idea, for their own furry character, in mind. First step is going to an artist and let them create your character. After that you can go to a few fursuit makers. And they will make your furry character come to life. Now this is a whole process, and I just explained the very basic of it. There is alot of time, effort and money involved for when you finally have the fursuit ready.

So how much does a fursuit costs? Well... between the 1500 and 2000 dollars. And yes... That's alot of money. But everything is made by hand. It takes about 2 months for a fursuit to be finished. It's a hell of a work. That's why most people, try and make their own. It isn't really super hard. There lot's of guides for it. And all it takes, is being a handy person. If your handy with all sorts of things, then you can manage to make a fursuit. It just takes alot of time and patience :).
